ATTN: Dear Followers! Super Important!

So, I’m not sure if any of you are aware of a scammer going around hitting up the competitive scene and its players.

The other night, I was re-added by my friend Free [MFU], only it wasn’t him. A scammer gained control of his account and may be going around trying to scam others. A friend was also confronted by another scammer on a different account. It is not known how many scammers are working on this, so please keep your eyes peeled and report any and all who do the following.

Here is what the scammer(s) do/does;

• 1. Sends a random request, whether it is an old friend or someone you’ve never seen.
• 2. Asks you if you’ve seen what someone has written about you in the steam forums
• 3. Pastes a link to a fraud site.
• 4. Logs off immediately afterwards

Currently the site has been reported, but it won’t stop the scammer from making another. Please be wary of any and all random friends request from old friends you haven’t spoken to in a while, or new people you’ve not met before.

Competitive TF2 Section Added to Steam Forums

That’s right, you’re reading that title correctly. Valve has finally gotten its forum managers to add a competitive TF2 section to the official Steam forums. We (CommFT, ETF2L, eXtv, ozfortress, and VanillaTF2) have been emailing with them for more than six months trying to get this to happen and now that it has, the competitive community needs to represent itself well on the boards. Be sure to make an account, post helpful information about the competitive side of TF2, and be friendly with those who do not share your views of competitive play.

Note that this is a new main section of the forums so now discussion of competitive play doesn’t have to occur in the context of the “TF2 Beta” forum.
